Put some action in your living room with this stamped samurai fight

Japanese printmaking is an engraving technique used by a handful of artists at the dawn of the Edo period, in the 1600s. It is inspired by Ukiyo-e art which means “image of the floating world."

This era was modelled on samurai , geishas, sumo wrestlers, kabuki actors, but not only. It could also represent cult landscapes in the Land of the Rising Sun such as the Great Wave of Kanagawa or Mount Fuji.

This work is part of a triptych (suite of 3 paintings) which represents a fight scene. The middle panel depicts a warrior trying to fend off his left and right opponents. This canvas is the third.
