Hanten Woman
Slip on this hanten woman and proudly wear a traditional Japanese Coat with carp Koi symbols
This women's winter coat originated over a century ago in Japan. In the 1900s, it was worn with traditional outfits such as kimonos and yukatas. But unlike these popular garments, the hanten has never served the middle classes.
Warmer than a Haori jacket and just as fashionable, the hanten coat is lined with a cotton layer to keep nice and warm. It's cut short for a dynamic, original, and contemporary style. You can use it as a mid-season jacket and wear a heavy coat over it in winter.
This Japanese cotton jacket is printed with fish motifs. In Japan, they're called koï carp. They are often featured on Irezumi's tattoos. Legend has it that they are so powerful that they can swim up rivers and transform into fierce dragons.
