Neko Hanten
The neko Hanten is printed with Maneki Neko Cats pattern !
The hanten is a traditional Japanese coat. The first examples appeared in the 18th century, during the Edo period. Unlike other Japanese garments such as the kimono, the hanten was never reserved for the aristocracy. Similar to the haori jacket, the hanten is distinguished by its quilted cotton lining. It retains heat, which is why we recommend wearing it when temperatures drop. So it's ideal for autumn or winter.
The motifs on this cotton coat are little cats called maneki neko (translation: the inviting cat). Many Japanese legends tell of the good-luck virtues of this animal, which is much-loved in the land of the rising sun. The collar is highlighted and sewn with a strip of black fabric.
