The Neko cat printed on this Hanten coat will bring you good luck, as is the Japanese tradition!
The Hanten is a traditional, short-cut Japanese coat . The first copies appeared in the 18th century, during the Edo period. Unlike other Japanese garments such as the kimono, hanten was never reserved for the aristocracy.
Close to the Haori jacket, the Hanten is differentiated by its quilted cotton inner lining. It retains heat, which is why we recommend wearing it when temperatures drop. It is therefore ideal when autumn or winter arrives.
The patterns that make up this cotton coat are little cats called maneki neko (translation: the cat that invites). Numerous Japanese legends tell of the lucky virtues of this animal very appreciated in the land of the rising sun. The collar is highlighted and sewn with a strip of black fabric.
