Here are our tips for using Japanese chopsticks correctly:

🥢 If you're not used to holding chopsticks , here's a simple method: position the first chopstick in the palm of your hand at the base of your thumb and hold it still with your ring finger. Then place the second stick between your thumb, index finger and middle finger and then make the movement of a clamp by moving this second stick.

🥢 To serve Japanese chopsticks in the right way, use your left hand, do not stick your chopsticks in food, do not lick them and put them on a chopstick rest (or hashi oki) when you are no longer using them.

🥢 Also, wooden chopsticks do not lend themselves to it. It is also very frowned upon to point someone with it. It is as incorrect as pointing the finger at someone in France. Finally, don't use it to transfer food from one bowl to another: the spoon is made for that.
